Imagine Summer
SPIRITUAL JOURNEY STOPS IN KELOWNA

Oprah talks about it, so does the bestseller The Secret, and some even spend their summer vacations immersed in it.

It's called spirituality, and in the last few years it's become one of the biggest trends crossing North America. Now Okanagan spiritual seekers are talking about it as well as part of the latest session taking place in the Imagine Summer series underway at Mosaic Books.

"Just look at the top books on the New York Times best seller list and there's a slew of books addressing spiritual issues," said Robert MacDonald, who is producing the free series in association with the magazines of Wheat King Publishing - Okanagan Arts, Okanagan Home, and Okanagan Q. "People are looking to find meaning in there lives and for many it's a very personal journey."

The event is being sponsored by the Arts Council of the Central Okanagan, Wood Lake Books, CKOV Radio, UBCO's Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, and Project Literacy Kelowna.

The Kelowna journey gets underway Thursday, July 12 with Everyday Spirituality - Conversations for the Soul, featuring four local spiritual seekers, finders and explorers:
Marilyn Perry is a Christian educator, author and editor of The Whole People of God Sunday School curriculum. Even with a lifetime spent in the church, her spiritual understanding continues to evolve in surprising ways.
Birgit Schneider is the author of God Revisited: A Contemporary Understanding of History's Antidote to Stress. She seeks to bridge the gap between religion and spirituality.
Tammie O'Reilly is a divinity coach and founder of True Light Communications. Tammie recently organized an international gathering of more than 120 seekers interested in channelled teachings.
Karin Wilson is an award-winning journalist whose private life has taken her through Christianity and beyond. She's now intrigued with the spiritual principle of cause and effect.

This is a free event put on by the Okanagan Institute which works to enhance the quality of cultural life in the Okanagan through publications and events. For more information about the series, pick up a flyer at Mosaic Books. Seating is limited, so reserve your spot HERE.
